My scientific research interests broadly run from computational linguistics to artificial intelligence, with a specific focus on evolutionary linguistics. At the moment I am investigating the evolution of grammar through computational models in which populations of artificial agents engage in language games (i.e. local communicative interactions) and thereby self-organize a language. I am also involved in the development of Fluid Construction Grammar together with researchers from the VUB AI Lab in Brussels and my colleagues at the SONY Computer Science Laboratory in Paris.
